The Ware Cousins Journey to New Hampshire
July 2004
by Ann Mullins Tindall

In July 2004, thirteen members of the Ware Family Association traveled to Cheshire County, New Hampshire, to visit historical sites associated with the Ware family. Eleven of those making the trip were descendants of Benjamin Ware. Moses Ware, Benjamin’s father, a fifth generation descendant of the English immigrant Robert Ware, moved from Norton, Massachusetts, to Surry, N.H., west of Gilsum, shortly after Benjamin was born. The WFA group stayed in Keene, N.H., the seat of Cheshire County.  In addition to the group of twelve cousins pictured above, Betsey Matteson’s daughter, Jennifer Matteson, joined us for a couple of days and Mary Mullins’ granddaughter, Jenni Mullins, a camp counselor in Maine, visited briefly. All who made this trip appreciated immensely the time and effort of our New England cousins, Cindy Joy and Adelaide Cain, who prepared the way for us.
